At this point

I have been gone for quite a while. The previous post kinda eludes to the absence. Since then I have been super busy and not so busy. Here's an update on me.

I have a new toy!!! The Huz bought me a Ipod!!!!! It has engulfed me and I am now a slave to the Apple. I can't go anywhere without it. It especially is helpful when in WallyMart. I zoom in and out in 4 songs or less and this saves money!!

I started classes online with University of Phoenix. I only have 1 class right now but will add more in 4 weeks or so. I'm still crossing all appendages in hopes that the financial aid gods will look past my many failed attempts at college previously and will grant me more money. I would even be more ecstatic if the financial aid gods will rain a few extra thousand dollars on me to buy a laptop and pay a few bills too. A girl can wish, can't she.

The kids & The Huz are back in school, they were off for 10 days for spring break and we all made it through!!! Whew!!! For a minute I didn't know we were gonna make it, the kids eat SOOOOOO much now. Thank you US government for the free lunch program. I will never talk bad about you again. The Professor alone will eat through a box of cereal and loaf of bread in 2 days flat. I have suggested that he gets a job, but he laughs and asks if he can finish what's left on my plate. It's not too early for an 8 yr old to work is it???

We did have some drama with the Drama Princess over the spring break. Her visit to her mom was extended, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, for another week and she was returned only after missing an entire week of school. Thanks a lot, as if she isn't already behind enough on her own. The school personnel called daily to check on her knowing how the situation is with her mom and I. They are really great!!

I took my child care licensing exam and passed on the first try!!! I applied for a few summer camp positions in that field but won't hear back for a while.

Still haven't found a job....but I do take my Postal Exam to be a rural route carrier tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for me!! Starting pay is at $16.75/hour and the money could really come in handy right now.

Other than that not much else has been going on.....

Plan Derailed...

I started the new year with very positive optimism, really I did. I had a plan in place...but things sometimes don't go as planned. I made the declaration that I was going to seriously start looking for work, and I did. I had a plan....to get a job by the end of January

My plan included getting the paper on Sunday, highlighting all the possible ads to apply to . I color coded the ads---pink for faxed resume, green for emailed resume, blue for online application, yellow for in person application. All positions that looked really appealing, got stars.

On Monday, I would get the family situated in the morning by 7am and start "going to work".

I would go through my list of ads and respond. I even got showered & dressed the part!!!

On Tuesday, I would call the companies to make sure they recieved my resume/application and try to get a name of the Human Resources person to follow up with later in the week.

On Wednsday, I would search our local Pennysaver employment ads. I color coded then--pink for faxed resume, green for emailed resume, blue for online application, yellow for in person application. All positions that looked really appealing, got stars.

It's hard to get the return phone call or automated email response stating that the position was filled by some other slump. I kinda take it personally and get discouraged quickly. I have prayed and prayed for some breakthrough and still to no avail.

I know, I know, maybe GOD has something mind blowing in store for me and is just waiting on me to be patient and put trust in HIM. This becomes increasingly hard as the bill collectors continue to call, daily, nightly, hourly.

I know that I needed to plan for delays or bumps in my plan. But right now I'm just tired......

This is what I am grateful for...

"Drama Princess"
Daytona Beach---January, 2008

I know I don't say it enough...could I ever possibly. Princess, I love you. It is moments like these that I treasure. You were not born of me but I feel you are still apart of me.
I know I yell at you for alot of the things you do. I know, and I'm sorry. Sometimes I find it hard to parent you with all of your "quirks" that come with your ADHD and other issues. Your logic and reasoning does not match mine and that makes us constantly bump heads. I'm working on my patience as a parent.
I look back and remember how much progress you have made in life despite_______________(fill in the blank with one of your many issues).
I really and truely believe that your future will be bright and that you are a blessing to our family!!
Mommy/Auntie loves you!!!

Resolution Time, Folks!!!

Okay, so

Last year I made only one resolution. My resolution seemed kinda small in comparison to those made by my friends. But, so what!!

I STUCK TO IT!!
My resolution was to take better care of my skin and nails and I did this year. I drank more water, moisturized daily and tried not to pick at pimples.
(Yep, still get pimples even at 20ish yrs old)
I tried to steer clear of making resolutions that would quickly be broken and forgotten. Soooo, I'm gonna stick to the same theme this year.

ME!!!

My resolutions for this year will be to try to eliminate the negative speaking & make more time for myself...

I plan on reading more books, do more crafts, go to the library/bookstore more, all to help with my sanity.

As for eliminating the negative speaking, I'm not going to say I will stop cursing. That would be just plain STUPID!!! I am willing to say that I will stop being sooooo sarcastic and chill with the negativity.

Now, the catch is that I am making this resolution while my kids and husband are home on winter break from school. Will I be able to keep my both resolutions despite them being home all day, every day till school break is over?????

Check back with me January 7th when the Professor, Princess & the Huz go back to school.

OHHH Yeah, how could you let me forget my other resolution is to blog more!!!!!

I just love letting my imaginary internet friends see what's going on with me!!!

Friday, December 14, 2007

Okay, so the other day I was checking my email and what do I find in there....an email stating I got 2 comments posted to my blog.

Go Me, Go Me, Go Me!!!!!

Also, I should mention that one of the comments came from a blogger who I have blog envy for!!! (***Really gushing***)

****Doing the Happy Mommy Booty Shake****
Thanks, you guys, that made my day to know that I am not just aimlessly rambling on to my imaginary internet friends!!

Politically Revelent...

I have never been much on arguing politics with anyone. I am a proud registered voter but struggle with sorting through all the media and bureaucratic crap in order to make a clear decision on who to vote for. I vote based on what candidate would be beneficial for my family. I did not vote for George W. Bush and question the judgement of anyone else who would vote for such a ding bat. In an American Government/Economics class, I learned that Presidents have their speeches written for them and that most of their responses to media questions were scripted. Some presidents were sooo eloquent that it did not show. There is no question that someone writes for President Bush!!! YA THINK!!!

Again, I have never been one to bring politics to the discussion table, this video is an awesome stance....
